The Etiquette

Shop smart. Shop kind.

Estate sales are a little different from your everyday shopping trip—part treasure hunt, part community event. To keep things running smoothly (and fun for everyone), we ask all guests to follow a few simple guidelines:

On Arrival

  • Sign In & Settle In: Add your name to the sign-up sheet and wait nearby until it’s your turn to enter. No cutting in line—treasures will wait for you!

While You Shop

  • Be Courteous: A smile and a little patience go a long way.
  • Keep it Clean: No food or drink inside the house.
  • Fresh Air Only: No smoking anywhere on the property.
  • Travel Light: Please leave large bags or backpacks at home.
  • Claim with Care: Want an item? Clearly mark it and ask a staff member for help.
  • Respect the Space: No walking on the grass, peeking in windows, or exploring areas that aren’t open for the sale.

Moving Your Finds

  • Driveway Duty: Use the driveway only for loading and unloading purchases.
  • No Sprinting Required: Take your time—running is not permitted. (Besides, your treasures aren’t going anywhere!)

Finally, please remember: Compassionate Transition is not responsible for accidents or injuries on the property. We want you to enjoy the hunt safely and with ease.

"An estate sale is really about honoring a home and its history. A little kindness and courtesy make the experience better for everyone."
